WSOP Main Event Update - 57 remain going into Day 7; Lamb leads POY rankings

RIO CASINO, LAS VEGAS - Eight players from the remaining 57 in the WSOP Main Event will become millionaires but only one will become champion, taking home $8.7m as well as the famous gold bracelet. The 57 players remaining will play five levels or down to 18 players, whichever happens sooner.

Over this weekend, 852 remaining players have been reduced to just 57, with it all being streamed live online for the very first time. The end of Day 4 saw Manoj Viswanathan hold the lead and become the first player to have over 2 million chips, while the field was reduced from 852 to 378 in a day where the money bubble burst and people started getting paid for their efforts. On Day 5, over two hundred more players were ousted with 142 remaining going into Day 6 and David Bach lead, holding 4.7million chips. On Sunday another 85 players were knocked out to leave the 57 remaining hopefuls.

Ryan Lenaghan is overwhelming chip leader going into Day 7 with a stack of 12.865m, nearly three million chips ahead of the remarkable Ben Lamb with 9.98m. Lamb now leads the Player of the Year rankings thanks to his incredible run in the series and the Main Event. Phil Hellmuth will now need to continue his excellent form at the WSOPE in Cannes this October to gain the points he needs to beat Lamb in the exciting race.

Lamb currently has 734.05 player of the year points and counting, while Hellmuth sits on 710.25 after his fantastic series where he came second in three championship events.

The top Brit left in the field is tournament pro and bracelet winner JP Kelly who has 3.75million chips for about an average chip stack.

Erika Moutinho is the last woman standing with 2.075million, while her partner David "Doc" Sands is faring slightly better with a stack of 2.765million.

Australian Tony Hachem is still standing with 2.25million, and his bid to match his brother Joe's 2005 win is well and truly alive. If Tony makes it to the final table, he and Joe will become the first ever siblings to make the final nine of the Main Event.

Day 7 begins Monday at 12pm PT (8pm BST)
