UEFA Champions League: CSKA Moscow v Real Madrid Odds and Betting Preview

MOSCOW, RUSSIA - CSKA Moscow face the daunting task of trying to beat Real Madrid over two legs in the Champions League last 16 and are quoted at best odds of 15/2 (bet £2 to make £15 profit) with bet365 and BetVictor to win the first leg at home. Runaway La Liga leaders Real Madrid are heavy favourites to win the match and are top priced at 4/9 with Paddy Power and Betfred to take a lead back to the Spanish capital. A draw can be backed at best odds of 7/2 at Boylesports and bet365.

CSKA Moscow are six points behind Zenit St Petersburg at the top of the Russian Premier League and have a fight on their hands to qualify for the Champions League with Dynamo Moscow, Spartak Moscow and Rubin Kazan all within touching distance of the 2005 UEFA Cup winners. They will need to be at their best to have any chance against Real Madrid and look very unlikely to qualify for the next round. CSKA are quoted at best odds of 7/1 at Skybet and bet365 to qualify from this tie.

José Mourinho's Real Madrid seem to have finally turned the tables on Barcelona's dominance domestically and with a ten point lead in La Liga they look near certainties to win their first league title for four seasons. Mourinho will be determined to win the Champions League as well and prove that the balance of power has shifted from Catalunya to Madrid. Real are best priced at 1/7 with Paddy Power to qualify from this tie.

In the over/under betting the bookmakers have over 2.5 goals as a slight favourite in the betting, with Stan James quoting best odds of 4/5. Under 2.5 is a top priced 21/20 shot at bet365 and BetVictor.

Cristiano Ronaldo heads the first goalscorer betting and can be backed at best odds of 11/4 at Ladbrokes to give Real the lead. Karim Benzema is finally starting to prove himself at Real Madrid and has scored a bagful of goals this season. The French striker is a top priced 9/2 shot with Boylesports to score the opener, whilst Gonzalo Higuaín is 5/1 at Ladbrokes. CSKA forward Seydou Doumbia can be backed at best odds of 11/1 at BetVictor to score the first goal.

Real Madrid can be backed at best odds of 5/4 at Coral to be winning the match at the end of both halves, whilst draw/Real Madrid is as long as 7/2 with the same bookmaker. CSKA/CSKA is a top priced 14/1 shot with bet365 and William Hill, with draw/CSKA quoted at 18/1 at bet365.

The match kicks off at 1700 GMT and is live on Sky Sports 2
