MILAN, ITALY – Inter Milan host CSKA Moscow in their final Champions League Group B game on Wednesday night. The Italian giants have already secured their place in the latter stages of the competition, but will be eager to win this game nonetheless, and start the fixture as 17/10 (bet £10 to make £17 profit) favourites with William Hill. CSKA Moscow, on the other hand, need all three points in order to stand a chance of progressing, and with this powerful incentive in mind they are on offer at an only slightly longer 15/8 with Ladbrokes. The draw can be backed at 12//5 with Victor Chandler.
Inter Milan have been having, by their own extremely high standards, a very poor season. Claudio Ranieri’s side are currently fifteenth in the Serie A with only fourteen points from their first twelve games, and judging by their 1-0 loss to Udinese on Saturday they don’t seem to be improving. It is true that Inter are top of their Champions League group, but it has certainly not been the toughest of draws, and Inter’s performances have been little more than lukewarm throughout. CSKA Moscow will arrive at the San Siro, therefore, feeling confident that their opponents are eminently beatable. Whether CSKA will manage to produce a performance capable of defeating their hosts remains to be seen. All eyes will be on this intriguing contest on Wednesday.
In the over/under betting the top price on over 2.5 goals being scored is 6/5 with Stan James, whilst under 2.5 goals is on offer at 8/11 with Boylesports. For those punters who think that this game will end in a goalless stalemate, however, under 0.5 goals can be backed at longer odds of 9/1 with Ladbrokes.
Argentine striker Diego Milito starts the game as favourite to open the scoring, and can currently be backed to do so at best odds of 6/1 with Victor Chandler. Milito’s Italian team mate Giampaolo Pazzini is also thought to be dangerous by the bookmakers, and is available at 7/1 with Ladbrokes. CSKA Moscow’s most threatening attacking player, on the other hand, is Seydou Doumbia, who has hit the net four times already in the competition. Doumbia can currently be backed to break the deadlock at 7/1 with Victor Chandler.
Inter are quoted at best odds of 10/3 with Blue Square to win the match after leading at half time, whilst draw/Inter is on offer at 11/2 with William Hill. Draw/Moscow is available at identical odds of 11/2 with Blue Square, whilst Inter/Moscow can be backed at longer odds of 33/1 with Skybet.
