LONDON, UK – Millwall host London rivals Crystal Palace this afternoon in their important Championship clash at the Den. The home side are currently ten places behind Palace in the league, but nevertheless start as 23/20 (bet £20 to make £23 profit) favourites with Blue Square. For those punters expecting a victory for the away side, however, Crystal Palace can be backed at 14/5 with Victor Chandler, whilst the draw is on offer at a market best of 12/5 with Skybet.
Millwall are currently twentieth in the Championship table, only five points clear of the relegation zone, and are desperately in need of points. Kenny Jackett’s team have kept themselves afloat throughout the first half of the season with their solid home record, having only lost two of their twelve games at the Den. If they are to avoid the drop at the end of the season then they must continue producing these stubborn, resolute displays at home. Crystal Palace, however, will do their best to upset Millwall in this upcoming game, as they seek to move up the table towards the play-off zone.
In the over/under betting the top price on over 2.5 goals being scored is 5/4 with Stan James, whilst under 2.5 goals is on offer at a market best of 8/13 with Ladbrokes. For those punters that think this important game will end in a goalless draw, however, under 0.5 goals can be backed at longer odds of 8/1 with Boylesports.
Darius Henderson has been on effective form in front of goal for Millwall so far this season, hitting the net nine times in the Championship. Henderson starts as favourite to open the scoring, and can be backed to do so at best odds of 11/2 with Victor Chandler. Henderson’s team mate, Jay Simpson, is also thought to be dangerous by the bookmakers, and can be backed to be the first name on the score sheet at 7/1 with Ladbrokes. Palace’s most dangerous striker, on the other hand, is Glenn Murray, who has six Championship goals to his name this season. Murray can be backed to break the deadlock at 8/1 with Bet365.
Millwall are quoted at best odds of 13/5 with Ladbrokes to win the match after leading at half time, whilst draw/Millwall is on offer at 4/1 with Paddy Power. Draw/Palace, on the other hand, is available at 7/1 with Bet365, whilst those punters who think that Palace will fight back to win after trailing at half time can back Millwall/Palace at longer odds of 50/1 with Coral.
