The Gunners` most influential midfield player and leading goalscorer at the club this season came off early after netting against Burnley in the EPL at the weekend, but was expected to be fit to face Porto. It is the same hamstring in his right leg he injured earlier in the season.
"We cannot even take a gamble, so he is not available," said Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger, according to a report in The Sporting Life.
Porto take a 2-1 lead to the Emirates Stadium for the second leg of the last-16 tie.
