Serie A: Lazio v Novara Odds and Betting Preview

ROME, ITALY – S.S. Lazio host league minnows Novara in their Serie A clash at the Stadio Olimpico on Monday evening. Lazio will be expecting to secure three points in this upcoming game, and are currently strong favourites to do so at best odds of 4/9 (bet £9 to make £4 profit) with Ladbrokes. For those punters expecting an upset, however, Novara can be backed at a considerably longer 9/1 with Coral, whilst the draw is on offer at 7/2 with Victor Chandler.

Lazio are currently fourth in the Serie A, and if they win in this upcoming fixture they will move just four points behind league leaders Juventus. Head coach Edoardo Reja will be disappointed with his team’s 1-0 loss against Juventus a week ago, and eager to get things back on track with an emphatic victory over Novara on Monday. Novara were promoted to the top flight at the end of last season, and are currently eighteenth in the table with only ten points from their first eighteen games. Attilio Tesser’s side secured an important three points against Parma in their last league outing, coming from behind to win an exciting 2-1 victory. Novara will hope they can replicate the result in their upcoming game, but will have to fight tooth and nail if they are to pull off a surprise victory.

In the over/under betting the top price on over 2.5 goals being scored is 10/11 with William Hill, whilst under 2.5 goals is available at evens with Bet365. The bookmakers are clearly not expecting this game to end in a goalless stalemate, however, and punters can therefore back under 0.5 goals being scored at considerably longer odds of 11/1 with Ladbrokes.

Lazio striker Miroslav Klose has been on dangerous form in the league so far this season, netting six goals in eleven appearances. Unsurprisingly Klose starts Monday’s game as favourite to open the scoring, and can currently be backed to do so at best odds of 4/1 with Victor Chandler. Ex-Liverpool forward and Lazio team mate Djibril Cisse is also thought to be a threat to the Novara defence, and is currently on offer to be the first name on the score sheet at 9/2 with Skybet. Novara’s most dangerous striker so far this season, on the other hand, has been Marco Rigoni, who has hit the net five times in the Serie A. Rigoni is currently on offer to break the deadlock at 20/1 with Bet365.

Lazio are quoted at best odds of 11/10 with Paddy Power to win the match after leading at half time, whilst draw/Lazio is on offer at 10/3 with Blue Square. Draw/Novara is available at 16/1 with Coral, whilst Lazio/Novara can be backed at odds as long as 100/1 with Boylesports.
