BERGAMO, ITALY – Inter Milan travel to the the Stadio Atleti Azzurri d'Italia this evening to face Atalanta in in the Serie A. Inter have lost two of their last three league games, and are desperately in need of some consistent form if they are to mount a serious title challenge this season. Nonetheless, Claudio Ranieri's side start the match as favourites to win, and can be backed to do so at best odds of 7/5 (bet £5 to make £7 profit) with Bet365. For those punters anticipating a victory for the home side, however, Atalanta can be backed at 9/4 with Coral, whilst the draw is on offer at 23/10 with Victor Chandler.
Inter have won the Serie A five times in the last six seasons, and began this campaign with strong designs on recapturing the title from AC Milan. They have not gone the right way about executing these designs, however, and are currently languishing in sixteenth place in the league with two wins from seven games. The Inter fans are desperate for their side – which boasts such a wealth of talent and experience on paper – to turn things around and begin to fulfil their enormous potential. Atalanta, however, who are are only one point ahead of Inter in the league, might not prove to be easily beatable. Stefano Colantuono's team have won just one of their last 12 meetings with Inter, but they are currently unbeaten at home this season, and look to be an increasingly slick side. The stage is set for a fascinating encounter.
In the over/under betting the top price on over 2.5 goals being scored is 11/10 with Stan James, whilst under 2.5 goals can be backed at 4/5 with Boylesports. The bookmakers are clearly not anticipating a feast of goals, however, and punters can back over 5.5 goals being scored at much longer odds of 16/1 with Bet365.
Argentine striker Diego Milito is always dangerous in front of goal, and has scored three times in five league starts this season for Inter. Unsurprisingly Milito is favoured to open the scoring in tonight's game, and can be backed to do so at best odds of 11/2 with Skybet. Inter team mate Giampaolo Pazzini is also thought likely to be the first name on the score sheet at 6/1 with Bet365, whilst Atalanta's most dangerous player is deemed to be German Denis at 13/2 with William Hill.
Inter Milan are quoted at best odds of 3/1 with Paddy Power to win the match after leading at half time, whilst draw/Inter is on offer at 9/2 with Skybet. Draw/Atalanta is available at 13/2 with Coral, whilst those punters who think that Atalanta will fight back to win the match after trailing at half time can back Inter/Atalanta at odds as long as 33/1 with Stan James.
