TURIN, ITALY – League leaders Juventus host Genoa in their eagerly anticipated Serie A clash on Saturday. Juventus are currently unbeaten in the Italian league, and alongside Udinese are setting the pace with twelve points from their first six games. Juventus supporters will be hoping that their side can secure a further three points in their upcoming match.
Juventus will be playing with the advantage of an enthusiastic home crowd, and start the match as 4/6 (bet £6 to make £4 profit) favourites with William Hill. Genoa, on the other hand, are currently available at 11/2 with Victor Chandler, whilst the draw can be backed at 11/4 with Stan James.
Despite topping the league table there may be slight concerns from the Juventus management that their team lack the ruthless edge needed to eventually win Serie A. Juventus have drawn three of their last four games, failing to put results beyond the grasp of their opponents. They will need to start converting these draws into wins if they are to continue leading the league. That having been said, however, Juventus did secure a vital 2-0 win against rivals AC Milan earlier this month, showing impressive determination with two late goals. Manager Antonio Conte will urge his side to produce a similar performance on Saturday.
Genoa began their season brightly, securing seven points from their first three games before consecutive defeats against Chievo and Parma put the brakes on their momentum. They were then unable to secure a victory against second-last place Lecce last weekend, and manager Alberto Malesni knows that his side must try to recapture their winning ways as soon as possible. Playing away against Juvents, however, will not be an easy test, and Genoa will have to fight tooth and nail to secure any result whatsoever.
In the over/under betting the top price on over 2.5 goals being scored is 19/20 with Bet365, whilst under 2.5 goals is on offer at an identical 19/20 with Ladbrokes. For those punters anticipating a bore draw, however, under 0.5 goals can be backed at a much longer 10/1 with Boylesports.
Juventus striker Alessanro Matri is thought to be their most potent attacking thereat by the bookmakers, and he can currently be backed at 4/1 with Boylesports to open the scoring on Saturday. Matri's midfield team mate Claudio Marchiso scored both goals against AC, and is on offer to score first again against Genoa at 7/1 with Bet365, whilst Genoa's Rodrigo Palacio is available to break the deadlock at 17/2 with Bet365.
Juventus are quoted at best odds of 8/5 with Paddy Power to win the match after leading at half time, whilst draw/Juventus is on offer at 7/2 with Ladbrokes. Draw/Genoa is available at 11/1 with Stan James, whilst those punters who think that Genoa will win the match after trailing at half time can back Juventus/Genoa at odds as long as 66/1 with Boylesports.
