Scottish Premier League - Inverness CT v Aberdeen Odds and Betting Preview

INVERNESS, UK - Inverness Caledonian Thistle face a rejuvenated Aberdeen side on Christmas Eve in a key match in their bid to avoid relegation from the SPL. Terry Butcher's men are top priced at 6/4 (bet £4 to make £6 profit) at William Hill and Betfred to take all three point in the north of Scotland derby. Craig Brown's Aberdeen side can be backed at best odds of 2/1 at Coral and Stan James. The draw is available at best odds of 12/5 at Ladbrokes and Skybet.

Inverness have hardly had luck on their side this season and the lack of penalties given to them in the match last week at Ibrox stunned Terry Butcher. Inverness have not received a penalty all this season but will need to start picking up points rather than complaining about bad luck to avoid the drop. Inverness will miss skipper Richie Foran through suspension, with many others out with long term injuries.

Aberdeen looked like relegation candidates earlier in the season but two wins in a row has seen them climb close to contention for a top six spot. A trip to Inverness is a tough test for most sides in the SPL, and will see the strength of Craig Brown's rejuvenated tested. Peter Pawlett starts a two match suspension for simulation.

In the over/under betting, the line has been set at 2.5 goals and the best odds available on over 2.5 is 11/10 at Paddy Power. Under 2.5 is quoted at best odds of 17/20 with Victor Chandler. Those punters expecting a festive feast of goals can back over 3.5 goals in the game at a top priced of 11/4 with Boylesports.

Inverness striker Gregory Tadé has not been a goal machine this season but has impressed with his energy and physical approach. He can be backed at best odds of 6/1 at bet365 and Ladbrokes to hit the back of the net first. Aberdeen's Scott Vernon is quoted at best odds of 7/1 at bet365 to score the first goal of the game and give the away side the lead. Inverness winger Jonny Hayes is a tempting 10/1 shot with bet365 considering his tendency to chip in with plenty of goals.

In the half-time/full-time betting, Inverness/Inverness is a top priced 7/2 shot at Boylesports, while draw/Inverness is 5/1 with bet365 and Coral. Aberdeen are top priced at 9/2 with Betinternet to win the match after leading at the break, whilst draw/Aberdeen is quoted at best odds of 6/1 at William Hill and Coral.
