Scottish Premier League - Dunfermline vs St Mirren betting preview

East End Park, Dunfermline - St Mirren travel to Dunfermline on Monday evening, looking to get their Scottish Premier League season off to a good start. Both teams are seen as likely to be competing to avoid relegation this season, and a win for either side will be a welcome boost.

Newly promoted Dunfermline are favourites to win the match, best priced at 11/8 with William Hill (bet £80 to make £100 profit). St Mirren are available at 9/4 with Coral, and the draw is 12/5 with Pinnacle Sports. Dunfermline had an excellent end to last season, winning their last six games to take the First Division and return to the top flight. They failed to win in their preseason matches, drawing four times and losing once, but they had an excellent home record last season, only losing one of their eighteen matches. St Mirren escaped relegation by the skin of their teeth last season, and look set to struggle again this season.

In the half time / full time market, Dunfermline / Dunfermline is the favourite spot, best priced at 10/3 with Ladbrokes, while draw / draw is next at 9/2 with Stan James. St Mirren are priced at 5/1 with Blue Square to be winning at half time and full time, and draw / Dunfermline is also a 5/1. Draw / St Mirren can be backed at 15/2 on Betfair, and both teams are generally available at 14/1 to be winning at half time but drawing at full time.

In the correct score betting, a 1-1 draw is the favourite result, priced at 11/2. A 1-0 win for the Pars is a 7/1 shot on Betfair, and a 1-0 win for St Mirren is 8/1 with Boylesports. Next in the betting is a 0-0 stalemate at 9/1 with Stan James, and 2-0 and 2-1 wins for Dunfermline are both generally available at 9/1. Skybet offer 12/1 on a 2-1 win for St Mirren, as well as 18/1 on a 2-2 draw.

Dunfermline's Andy Kirk is the 11/2 favourite to open the scoring tonight, followed by Andy Barrowman who is 13/2 with Betfred. Liam Buchanan is also a 13/2 shot and Nigel Hasselbaink is best priced at 8/1 with Ladbrokes.  Steven Thompson is offered at 8/1 by Bet365 and Martin Hardie is 9/1 with Coral.
