Clondaw Warrior has been cut to 10/1 (from 12/1) by the sponsors for the Betfred Ebor after a total of 83 horses remained in the race at the latest acceptance stage.

The Willie Mullins-trained eight-year-old has won his last two starts, including a Galway handicap last time out, for which he picked up a four pound penalty to leave him needing 20 horses to come out to be sure of a run in the historic £275,000 handicap.

The progressive Quest For More shares top spot after narrowly coming off second best in a thrilling finish to the Qatar Goodwood Cup last week.

Quick Jack threw his hat in the ring when running away with the Guinness Galway Hurdle and is next in the betting at 12/1 (from 14/1). Fields Of Athenry, who attracted plenty of support when the weights were revealed last month, is one of six horses bracketed at 14/1.

Betfred spokesman Andrew Griffiths said: "Clondaw Warrior won with plenty in hand at Galway so there's every chance he could be chucked in at York with a four pound penalty.

"Quest For More looks equally progressive at the top of the weights and must go well considering he's proven himself at Group Two level."
