Sky Bet expect Darren Clarke to oversee another Europe victory in 2016
28th September 2014
Europe are odds-on with Skybet to retain the Ryder Cup yet again when they head to USA in two years' time following their 16 ½- 11 ½ triumph.
The online bookmaker also appear certain that Darren Clarke will be the man to lead Europe, making him the 2/7 favourite to be the next captain, with Thomas Bjorn (5/1), Miguel Angel Jimenez and Padraig Harrington (both 8/1) considered alternatives.
However, they are not so confident that some of the heroes of Gleneagles will be involved again with Jamie Donaldson, whose victory over Keegan Bradley secured the trophy retention, 2/1 to be selected, while Victor Dubuisson, Stephen Gallacher and Bjorn are also odds-against.
Skybet's John Rhodes said: "Gone are the days when you'd be worried about the European team being intimidated by playing in front of a raucous USA crowd.
"They have now won six of the last seven and three in a row and, with the world's best player and an abundance of experience and characters on board, it looks a daunting task for the USA."
