Capello 4/1 not to lead England to Euros

Capello 4/1 not to lead England to Euro 2012

Sky Bet are offering 4/1 for Fabio Capello not to be England manager come the start of the 2012 European Championships following his public criticism of the FA's decision to stand down captain John Terry.

The Italian boss is set to meet with the Football Association to explain his comments, which confirmed he still perceives Terry to be his skipper and that the centre-half is innocent until proven guilty.

The FA took the decision to remove the armband from Terry after his trial for alleged racial abuse of Anton Ferdinand was set for after the summer finals, prompting online bookmaker Sky Bet to offer odds on who will lead the Three Lions, with Steven Gerrard the 1/2 favourite ahead of Scott Parker (9/2) and Joe Hart (6/1).

With Capello set to leave his position after the Euros at the latest, Sky Bet have had next England manager odds out for some while, holding Harry Redknapp as the favourite since the opening of their book.

However, the Tottenham manager's price has drifted to 7/4 from odds-on with his trial for tax evasion ongoing, although those odds are likely to be trimmed back in again if he is cleared.

Jose Mourinho's price has come in to 7/2 amid speculation over his position at Real Madrid, while Pep Guardiola (16/1) and Paul Lambert (66/1) have both been added to the list after attracting interest.
