ISLE OF MAN - PokerStars, the world's largest online poker site, is celebrating the fact that it is about to deal its 60 billionth hand. The 60 billionth hand dealt on the PokerStars virtual felt should happen in the next seven days, with vastly increased traffic on the site guaranteed. Even PokerStars pro Jonathan Duhamel (pictured) will be impressed by this promotion.
In celebration of this milestone on the "Road to 100 Billion", PokerStars will be giving away lots of cash prizes to players who are dealt into any of 300 milestone hands, starting at 59.7 billion and every millionth hand until the big one.
Any player lucky enough to be dealt dealt into one of the milestone hands will get $50 for each VIP Player Point (VPP) they earned during the previous 50 hands at that table. In addition, every player dealt to will receive a guaranteed $50 bonus even if they have only just sat down at the table. Winners of the milestone hands will also have their prize doubled as an extra bonus for their win.
PokerStars say on their blog that they expect to give away over $1 million in prizes over the promotion, with the winner of the 60 billionth hand receiving the biggest prize.
Players involved in the 60 billionth hand will be awarded $500 per VPP earned in the previous 50 hands. Added to this, a base prize of $500 will be distributed and, once again, the winner of the hand will get their loot doubled. As well as getting their already magnificent prize doubled, the winner of the hand will have an extra $60,000 put into their PokerStars account.
As of this morning just over 59.6 billion hands have been dealt on PokerStars so the milestone hands will be starting very soon.
