UEFA Cup 8 Nov
George Oborne's expert picks for UEFA Cup football matches on 8th November 2007.
FC Kobenhavn v Panathinaikos
Kobenhavn may well be top of their league, but the quality of the Danish league is very poor. They are also off form having won just two of their last five games and their lead at the top of their league is rapidly getting shortened.
Panathinaikos on the other hand are in brilliant form and won 4-0 at the weekend, they are second by two points in the Greek league and are scoring well both in the Greek league and in Europe.
The odds of 4.10 on Panathinaikos to win are therefore very generous.
Have a one point bet on a Panathinaikos victory at 4.10.
[Panathanaikos won 1-0]
Nurnberg v Everton
Nurnberg are on appalling form, at 16th in the Bundesliga, they have lost their last two games. They have won just twice this season in what is actually a pretty poor league.
Everton Meanwhile are playing extremely well in the Premiership, arguably the best league in the world at the moment. They are coming eight in the league, yet one must take into account that teams such as Liverpool are coming seventh in what is a highlt competitive league. They are also riding on having won their past two premier league games and I can see no reason why they will not continue to do so on the continent.
Therefore have a one point bet on an Everton win at odds of 2.88 on Betfair.
[Everton won 2-0]
Toulouse v Sparta Prague
Toulouse are doing very poorly in the French league, at 12th they haven’t won in their last three games despite easy fixtures against teams such as bottom of the table Metz.
Sparta are 2nd in the Czech league and have scored nine goals in their last two games, it means that I do like the look of Sparta, whom I believe have the strength to beat Toulouse but whether to take the safe +1/2 handicap bet at 2.11 or the Sparta win at 5.40 is a difficult decision.
Have a one point bet on Sparta (+1/2) at 2.11.
[Sparta won 3-2]
