Serie A 28 & 29 Sept
Ben Green's expert picks for Italian Serie A games on 28th and 29th September 2007.
Saturday's games
The big game of the weekend sees Inter travel to Roma for a clash that could potentially decide the championship. Both sides are in good form, although Roma have faltered a little, drawing their last two games. I think there is very little between the two sides and am happy not to wager on the result. These games are notoriously high scoring though and so
I recommend a two point wager on Over 2.5 goals at 1.96.
[Inter won 4-1]
The other game on Saturday sees an in form Fiorentina hoping to claim three points at Livorno. Fiorentina are in great form at the moment whereas Livorno are just the opposite. I think there is a great deal of value in this game and recommend
a three point bet on Fiorentina (-1/2) at 2.19.
[Fiorentina won 3-0]
Sunday's games
Siena will travel to Cagliari looking for their first win of the season. The home side started the season well but have lost their last three matches and will be hoping to get their season back on track. I think the two sides are well matched and am willing
to have a one point wager on Siena (+1/2) a\t 1.84.
[Siena lost 1-0]
Empoli are really struggling at the moment, currently third from bottom, they have yet to get started. Palermo on the other hand are flying, their midweek victory over AC Milan will have helped their confidence and they will be looking for three points on their travels. I think Palermo will be too strong for a down and out Empoli side.
Have a two point bet on Palermo (level) at 1.84.
[Empoli won 3-1]
In a derby of promotees, Genoa will travel to high flying Napoli in the hope of consolidating their mid table position. Whereas Genoa have started solidly, Napoli have started explosively, winning three of their last four games including a 5-0 thrashing of Udinese. At the prices on offer I think Napoli are great value and
recommend a two point bet on Napoli (-1/2) at 2.23.
[Napoli lost 2-1]
None of the other games represent great value for me.
