Saturday’s games
Reggina will be hoping to build on their 4-1 win over Catania last week as they welcome Siena. If it were not for their pre-season points deduction, Reggina would be challenging for a UEFA Cup place, as it is, they are just one point above the drop zone and a win would create a small amount of breathing space for them. Siena are in poor form at present (losing to Parma recently) and have been slowly dropping down the table.
Have a two point bet on Reggina (-1/2) at 2.00 .
[Reggina lost 1-0]
The other match on Saturday sees AC Milan travel to Roma to slug it out at the Stadio Olimpico. Currently Roma are nine points clear of third placed Lazio, but as we have seen with Palermo, it is easy to let that advantage evaporate and Roma will be well aware of that. The Stadio Olimpico has been a fortress for Roma this season, only Inter have a better home record and Although AC are in good form, they will have their work cut out as their away form is inconsistent. Although AC have some of their injury troubles resolved I think there is some value in backing Roma.
Have a one point bet on Roma (-1/4) at 2.15.
[Roma drew 1-1]
Sunday’s games
Empoli welcome Ascoli in what could be a critical match for both sides. The home side are currently five points clear of Fiorentina and are in the last UEFA Cup spot, they will be desperate to cement that position as recent results have seen them slide down the table. Ascoli are sitting at the bottom of the table and it seems likely that they will go down, however, miracles can happen and if they are to pull off the unthinkable then they will need three points. I think the home side are just too strong and recommend
a two point bet on Empoli (-3/4) at 1.92.
[Empoli won 4-1]
Since Ranieri has joined Parma, he has triggered a turn around in their form and his side are now only three points behind safety, they will be looking for a result to try and claw their way out of the drop zone. Parma have had a number of solid results recently, that coupled with the fact that Inter have not been in the inspiring form that we saw a month ago and the fact that they are missing a number of key players, makes me think that Parma are a value bet.
I recommend a two point bet on Parma (+1 ½) at 1.88.
[Inter won 2-0]
Lazio are in fantastic form at the moment, having won their last five matches and overtaken Palermo to go into third place, they will be keen to cement their Champion’s League position with a victory against Udinese. Udinese’s form continues to be unpredictable and I think they will find it very difficult to defeat their in form visitors.
I recommend a two point bet on Lazio (level) at 1.90.
[Lazio won 4-2]
None of the other games represent enough value to merit a bet and so i will be keeping my money for another day.
