Saturday’s games

The only game today sees Sampdoria host Cagliari. The home side are hoping for a UEFA Cup spot and will need three points to continue to challenge, Cagliari are moving slowly up the table but their away form has been very poor. I expect Sampdoria to win this match, but the handicaps are giving little away and so I will not be placing a bet.

Sunday’s games

High flying Empoli host Livorno in a match they must win if they are to continue to push for a Champion’s League spot. The home side are in great form, winning four of their last five encounters, Livorno on the other hand are not in good form, only winning once in their last 14 games. Livorno’s away form has been particularly poor and so I recommend a three point bet on Empoli (-1/2) at 2.09.

Inter take on AC Milan in one of the weekend’s big matches, it is hard to predict how Inter will react to their exit of the Champion’s League. AC are in good form and I think the match will be great to watch, however I will not be betting on it as the bookies have this one sewn up.

Lazio will travel to Reggina hoping for three points to help cement a Champion’s League spot. The visitors are in fantastic form, winning their last four games and are unbeaten from nine. Reggina have also done so far (as they also had a points deduction) but recently they have slipped and are back in the bottom three. Although both sides have their injury problems I think the price is good have a two point bet on Lazio (level) at 2.09.

Although Roma are effectively out of the title race, they will still be wanting to maintain a cushion in second place (currently at nine points) and will welcome Udinsese. Roma have a great home record, second only to Inter, they have won their last eight home games. Although one might argue that Roma may be tired after their tremendous performance against Lyon earlier this week, I disagree, I think confidence will be high, and that is worth a lot. Udinese are going through a rough patch at the moment and will have a mountain to climb as their list of absentees is not short. Have a two point bet on Roma (-3/4) at 1.80.
