Expert Primera Division Picks
Can Real Madrid claim the title this weekend? Can Barcelona turn things around?
With Real Madrid still ten points clear at the top of Spain’s Primera Division we look at whether they can claim the title this weekend.
It’s no change at the top and the teams in contention are in exactly the same position as they were last weekend.
A win for Madrid this weekend win guarantee their 31st Championship, although if Madrid fail to win and Villarreal also fail to get the 3 points the title will still be Madrid bound.
Madrid face a potentially tricky away match at Osasuna, whilst Villarreal are at home to Getafe.
Madrid will be without their playmaker Guti but will be happy withy the return of Ruud van Nistleroy after a six week absence due to ankle surgery.
For my money I think Madrid will win this match and confirm their Championship, 5/4 looks about right for the 90 minute victory.
That said I do not think that Villarreal will not stop fighting until they know the title is beyond them and the 4/5 on offer for the 90 minute win looks like the right option.
If you are feeling like a double on the two above wagers (both wagers to win in the 90 minutes) it pays just over the 3/1 mark which will also tempt me with a bet.
Third placed Barcelona are in all sorts of trouble, talk of a mass exodus during the summer including coach Frank Rikaard, look like being true as they crashed out of the Champions League this week and desperately need to claim that second spot in the league off Villarreal to secure the second automatic Champions League place.
Valencia have the task of trying to take three points off Barca and the way Barca are playing it may pay to side against them.
Valencia at 4/1 looks too tempting to overlook.
