Weekend Primera Division Picks

Concentrating again on the top of Spain’s Primera Division, this week sees some interesting games worth looking at.

Here are the games - with the top three all in action on Sunday.

Barcelona and Real Madrid both have home matches against Valladolid and Valencia respectively, third placed Villarreal travel to Levante.

It has been reported this week that Real’s Ruud Van Nistlrooy will be out of action for up to six weeks having had a operation on his troublesome right ankle, the target is to return in time to meet Barcelona on May 7th.

Real’s strength in depth will be tested with little used strikers, Higuain, Soldado and Saviola in line for starts alongside Raul in Ruud’s absence.

Real really are not in the best form at the moment, and they will miss their Dutch striker.

I would be looking for a bet on the draw at a generally available 11/4.

Barca’ have only taken one point from the last nine available, but I really can’t see relegation threatened Valladolid posing much of a threat, the last time these two met they fought out a 1-1 draw, but I think Barca’ will pull out all the stops at home.

I would be looking for a 2-0 victory, if you shop around you will be able to find 6/1 for this score line.

What I see as the best bet in this weeks program is third placed Villarreal, they are pushing for a Champions League place and could even sneak into the top two, they are playing the league’s bottom placed club and are on a roll having not been beaten in their last seven matches.

A generally available 4/5 for the away win looks about right, and is the advised bet this week.
