Saturday’s games

Sevilla will travel to Almeria in the hope of building on their fabulous win over Arsenal in the Champions League. Sevilla are having a very poor season by their standards and consistency has been their major problem so far. With just two points from their last three games Almeria are in danger of slipping into the drop zone, they will be desperate to get a result, but do they have the quality? Sevilla (-½) at 2.12 is an attractive price and is worth a two point wager.

Real Madrid have a 100% record at home this season and they will welcome Racing Santander in the hope of extending that record and remaining top of the league. However their results from their last five games (both domestic and in Europe) are not great and it could be argued that they are losing their edge. Racing are in good form and also have a good away record Racing (+1) at 2.30 looks like good value to me and is worth a one point wager.

Espanyol v Barca is another huge game, the two sides sit 4th and 3rd respectively and this game could prove critical in the race for the title. Barca’s away form has been poor of late and perhaps Espanyol, (undefeated in nine games) with a solid home record, could capitalise. I am tempted to back Espanyol (+½) but the prices on offer are not great and I am happy not to have a bet on this match.

Sunday’s games

Despite losing this week to Happoel Tel-Aviv, Getafe are in great form and will be keen to extend their climb up the table. They welcome Levante who sit at the foot of the table, despite a few good results recently, the visitors have an abysmal away records, having claimed no points away from home. Have a two point bet on Getafe (-1) at 2.05.

Athletico are in good form at the moment and they will travel to Real Betis in the hope of moving into the top four. Betis have lost three times in their last five matches and are just one point off the bottom of La Liga. I think Athletico are good value at 2.29 and I recommend a two point wager on them (-½).
