Newcastle have been a disaster for most of the season, winning just nine from 32 games, but with last weekend’s astonishing 4-1 drubbing of Spurs, who were at home, should come a much needed shot of confidence.

Manager Kevin Keegan says he can now see his team getting into the top half of the Premiership and a valuable three points here would certainly help.

It’s not as if Newcastle have much to beat. Reading too are only nine from 32 and have won just one game, drawn three, and lost 11 on the road this season.

We can see this being a high scoring encounter as Reading, with the exception of bottom-placed Derby, have the leakiest defence in the Premiership, conceding 36 goals when playing away this season – an average of nearly 2.5 per game.
As Michael Owen has so much to prove and netted last weekend we reckon a punt on him scoring anytime could produce a decent return too.
