Fulham v Blackburn

Fulham and Blackburn couldn’t have had more different starts to the season. Blackburn have been on brilliant form, they stand seventh in the most competitive league in the world.
Fulham meanwhile lie 13th, a good ten points behind Rovers. They have won just two games this season and find their inability to score has resulted in them drawing just under half their games.
Blackburn, however, have extremely attractive odds at 2.52 on betfair. This is due to the fact that they have just come out of two tough games against Liverpool and United. I would argue however that they did very well to take a point of Liverpool and other than during two minutes of Ronaldo brilliance Blackburn performed very well against the Red Devils. They have a big game against Villa on Wednesday but I believe that they will be eager to get their winning streak back on track by smashing the Cottagers at Craven Cottage on Sunday.

Birmingham v Portsmouth

This is another game which sees an even more drastic difference between teams. Portsmouth are sixth in the league and have produced stunning performances such as their 4-1 drubbing of Newcastle at St James’ Park, by the eleventh minute the game had been settled. Portsmouth are midway through an immensely tough battle for a European place and will not be foolish enough to throw away what should be an easy victory against Birmingham.
Newly promoted Birmingham are just three points of the drop zone and lack a manager. Under appalling circumstances Steve Bruce has left the club. A new manager has not yet been found and the Birmingham board have been spurned by both Martin Jol and Marcello Lippi. The club has just been taken over and is in complete turmoil.
How can one expect a team without a coach, whose players have no idea of what either their own or their clubs future will be, to come out and play against an in form side such as Portsmouth.
