Copa Del Rey 28 Feb
Ben Green's expert picks for Copa Del Rey games on 28th February 2007.
Wednesday’s games
Osasuna have a mountain to climb as they welcome Getafe in the second leg of the Copa Del Rey. Having lost the first leg 3-0 they will have to go all out if they are to progress to the next round. Since Getafe have such an advantage they may well be happy to sit back and hold on to their lead, then again they may not, it is hard to tell. I will not be having a bet on this match.
The same is true of Valladolid v Deportivo, the visitors won the last leg 4-1 and I cannot see Valladolid overturning that deficit. However it is hard to tell how Deportivo will play the game and I will be staying away from this match.
Real Betis have drawn 0-0 twice with Seville recently, and last week’s goalless draw against Getafe shows that Seville are struggling to score. Seville have a very important match against Barca on Saturday, a win in that match would see them back to first place in La Liga and so they may well be playing a weaker side in order to preserve a full strength team for Saturday. Betis have had eight draws in their last ten games and Seville know that a 1-1 draw would see them through.
I recommend a one point bet on the draw at 3.25 and a two point bet on under 2.5 goals at 1.60.
[Match was abandoned due to crowd violence]
As I mentioned earlier, Barca have a tough match against Seville at the weekend, they also have to worry about putting out a full strength side when they travel to Anfield next week in the hope of staying in the Champion’s League. Real Zaragoza will certainly be playing a full strength side, along with that they have a very good home record this season and are currently challenging for European qualification.
I recommend a two point bet on Real Zaragoza (+1/4) at 1.95.
[Barcelona won 2-1]
