Pick On The Final

Coming off a 5-0 weekend, Stephen Fry breaks down the Champions League Final.

Champions League Final.

And so the scene is set for the Champions League Final in Moscow on Wednesday evening.

The first two finishers in the premiership meet for the ultimate European prize, this is the first all English final, but will it prove to be a good game to bet on?

The first thing to say is that the press in the U.K. are reporting just about anything that is rumoured from either camp, some of the stories may prove to be true but we will have to wait until after this game to see the fallout.

Both camps have players that either want to move or are trying to put themselves into the shop window for a summer transfer.

United's biggest loss would be the rumoured move of Ronaldo to Real Madrid, although there do not seem to be many more stories coming from Manchester apart from this one.
Chelsea on the other hand could lose a clutch of players, and there are even rumours that this could be the manager’s last game in charge.
Drogba and Lampard are the two players hitting the headlines right now, with both players claiming that they are happy to stay at Stamford Bridge, Drogba could move to Italian giants A C Milan whilst Lampard is being courted by Inter Milan and a host of other players could still end up leaving in the transfer window.

As far as the two matches played in the Premiership, the results are a bit muddling.
Utd beat Chelsea at Old Trafford 2-0 back in September of last year, this result though is a bit misleading as Chelsea had just fired their manager and taken on Grant to be the new boss, Chelsea were lack lustre that day and never looked like winning.
The second match at Stamford Bridge was a much tighter affair with Chelsea coming out the victors 2-1 at the end of April.

So what to make of the final it’s self, well neither team have any injury worries ahead of the final, with Terry and Drogba being the only real doubts leading up to the match, it now appears that they are both fit and it’s to both managers great credit that both teams come into this match at full strength.
Who ever wins the match it will go down in history for different reasons.

A Chelsea win would be their first ever European crown.

A Utd win would be fitting on the 50th anniversary of the Munich air disaster.

The verdict is that this should be an entertaining but tight game, a lot depends on Drogba and if the Utd defence can keep him quiet, Chelsea are far from a one man team but I think that’s the key to the match.
My money will be on a Utd win, but not in the 90 minuets play.
A host of books are offering ‘to win in extra time’ and the market I am interested in ‘to win by penalties’.

A Manchester United victory by penalties is rated a 9/1 shot and I think it could be worth a small investment.
