England and Italy cut for World Cup glory

Bookies have updated their World Cup odds following the first leg of playoffs for the final five places at Germany 2006 and a set of major friendly games.

England were the main movers in the betting as bookies cut them from a best price of 10.00 (9/1) to as short as 7.00 (6/1) following their 3-2 victory over Argentina in Geneva.

Italy, who beat Holland impressively, have been cut to a top price of 11.00 (10/1), while Brazil, are now best priced at 4.33 (10/3) after an 8-0 friendly win.
