Disappearing casino raided by Taiwan police

Police in Taiwan uncovered and raided a mobile casino on Wednesday that moved around Keelong City, arresting dozens of people in the process.

The sting began when four policemen entered the casino, located on Shenaokeng Road, pretending to be average-joe punters. After gaining admission, they rapidly identified themselves as members of the local police force and arrested everyone present, including six casino staff members and 21 gamblers.

Colleagues from Keelung City Police were later drafted in to escort the large number of suspects to the police station.

After his arrest, the organizer of the casino, surnamed Tuan, admitted renting the venue for NT$5,000 per day as a casino and charging each gambler NT$1,000 per bet, from which he could earn NT$30, according to a report in The China Post.
