Police rumble gambling den…again

A gambling den in Katong Village, Singapore, which operated under the guise of an internet café, has once again been raided by cops.

Its caretaker, Lee Check Seng, 50, was fined $10,000 and jailed for two weeks on Monday.

According to a report in The Straits Times, police found five computers on which gamblers could play jackpot games, as well as 26 jackpot machines.

The owner of the property, Low Thiam Guan, 53, was jailed for a month in January for operating an illegal gambling den. He was caught by police last year in a sting operation and tried to flee the scene with $6,600 stuffed into two plastic bags.

Singapore’s first casino, the Resorts World Sentosa, opened in February this year.
