Jol sacked as Spurs lose in UEFA Cup

Tottenham manager Martin Jol has been sacked following his side’s 2-1 loss to Getafe at White Hart Lane. The Spanish side came from behind to steal the away win and that was enough to see Jol removed from his post. Spurs have been pushed out for the title, currently on offer at a best price of 13.00 (12/1) across the board. Bet Asia takes a look at all of last night’s UEFA Cup action and examines how the bookies have reacted.

It is always difficult to predict how a team will play when they have lost their manager but Tottenham are a quality outfit and are on offer at 2.75 (7/4) with Coral and Skybet to win Group G, that seems like fair value to me. They can be backed to qualify at 1.30 (1/3) with Betfair. Getafe are now as short as 2.20 (6/5) to win the Group.

Bolton were denied three points thanks to a late equaliser from Braga, as the game ended 1-1 at the Reebok Stadium. The Trotters are on offer for the title at 67.00 (66/1) across the board and can be backed to qualify at 1.57 (4/7) with Coral.

Current favourites Bayern Munich, came from behind twice and then scored a last minute winner to defeat Crvena Zvezda 3-2. The German side remain on offer to win the competition at a best price of 5.00 (4/1) with William Hill.

Everton made light work of Larissa, beating them 3-1 at Goodison Park. The Toffees are on offer for the title at 22.00 (21/1) with Totesport.

Athletico Madrid had a real battle with Locomotiv, eventually drawing 3-3 in Moscow. The Spaniards are second favourites, available at 12.00 (11/1) with William Hill.

Villarreal avoided defeat with a late equaliser to draw 1-1 with Fiorentina. Group C will be a group to keep an eye on as it has a lot of depth to it. The Spanish side can be backed for the title at 14.00 (13/1) with Bet365, Blue square, Skybet, Totesport and Hills, the Italians are on offer at a best price of 20.00 (19/1) in the same market.

Anderlecht managed a 2-0 win over Hapoel, Basle defeated Rennes by a goal to nil, Leverkusen beat Toulouse 1-0 and Bordeaux managed a 2-1 win over Galatasaray. Helsingborgs drew 1-1 with Panionios, Panathanaikos smashed Aberdeen 3-0, Hamburg beat Brann 1-0, Zurich came from behind to defeat Sparta Prague 2-1 and AZ drew 1-1 with St Petersburg.
