Liverpool in deep trouble

Besiktas defeated the Reds 2-1 in Turkey to leave the English side lying at the bottom of Group A. Benitez’s men have been pushed way out for the title, from 17.00 (16/1) to 26.00 (25/1) with Blue Square and Stan James. They have also been pushed out to qualify, from 1.53 (8/15) to 2.90 (1.90/1) with Betfair. Bet Asia takes a look at all of tonight’s Champions League action.

With just three games remaining in the group stages, Liverpool will have to pull of something pretty special if they are to qualify. The bookies will have been delighted with this shock result, Ladbrokes spokesman, Nick Weinberg, said: “We offered 5.50 (9/2) about all four Premiership sides winning their respective midweek games, so we were more than happy to see another disappointing performance from the Reds.”

The other major shock of the evening was Rosenborg’s 2-0 win over Valencia. The Norweigan side are now second in Group B and have been cut in the qualification market, from 24.00 (23/1) to a best price of 6.80 (5.8/1) with Betfair.

Chelsea managed a 2-0 win over FC Shalke at Stamford Bridge. The London side have been cut for the title, from 10.00 (9/1) to 9.00 (8/1) across the board.

Current champions AC Milan made light work of Shakhtar defeating them 4-1 in Milan. The Italians remain on offer for the title at 11.00 (10/1) with Boyle Sports, Ladbrokes and Skybet.

Elsewhere, Marseille drew 1-1 with Porto, Real Madrid came from behind to beat Olympiakos 4-2 and Werder Bremen beat Lazio 2-1.
