McClaren for the sack?

Steve McClaren is 1.50 (1/2) to not to be in charge of England for the start of next year’s European Championship finals, according to Ladbrokes. Bet Asia takes a closer look at this betting market.

The under pressure boss is 5.00 (4/1) with Ladbrokes to have left his post before the Three Lions’ potential dead rubber against Croatia. England are 1.40 (2/5) with Paddy Power and VCBet to miss out on the finals.

Jose Mourinho and Martin O’Neill are the Harrow-based firm’s favourites to take over. Both are 4.00 (3/1) to land the top job.

Ladbrokes spokesman, Nick Weinberg, said: “In reality Steve McClaren’s fate rests in the hands of Israel. If England fail to qualify for the Euro finals he's as good as gone. And even if they do make it the perception will be that it’s in spite of, rather than due to McClaren.”

David Beckham is 2.50 (6/4) to win 100 caps for England.
