La Liga: Sevilla v Getafe Odds and Betting Preview

SEVILLE, SPAIN – Sevilla face Getafe on Monday evening in their La Liga clash at the Estadio Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan. Sevilla have the advantage of playing in front of an enthusiastic home crowd, and unsurprisingly start the game as clear 4/6 (bet £6 to make £4 profit) favourites with Ladbrokes. For those punters anticipating an upset, however, Getafe are on offer at 9/2 with Stan James, whilst the draw is available at 3/1 with Victor Chandler.

Sevilla are currently sixth in the league, and have the chance of moving above Andalusian rivals Malaga if they secure a victory in their upcoming match. Marcelino Garcia Toral’s side have lost their last two home fixtures, however, suffering disappointing 2-1 defeats at the hands of Granada and Athletic Club respectively. They will, no doubt, be desperate to get things back on track with a victory over Getafe on Monday. Getafe are currently eight points behind their hosts, and are precariously placed only one point clear of the relegation zone. Having secured an unlikely 1-0 victory over Barcelona in their last outing, however, the visitors will be brimming with confidence. The stage is set for an intriguing encounter.

In the over/under betting the top price on over 2.5 goals being scored is 19/20 with Bet365, whilst under 2.5 goals is on offer at evens with Stan James. The bookmakers are clearly not anticipating a defensive stalemate between these two sides, however, and punters can therefore back under 0.5 goals being scored at considerably longer odds of 11/1 with the same bookmaker.

Sevilla striker Alvaro Negredo has hit the net four times so far in La Liga this season, and starts Monday’s game as 4/1 favourite with Paddy Power to open the scoring. Negredo’s team mate Frederic Kanoute is also deemed to be dangerous by the bookmakers, and is available to be the first name on the score sheet at slightly longer odds of 11/2 with Skybet. Getafe’s most dangerous striker, on the other hand, is Miku, who has scored five times in La Liga this campaign. Miku can be backed to break the deadlock at 10/1 with Paddy Power, whilst Juan Valera, who scored the crucial goal against Barcelona, is on offer at 33/1 with Boylesports.

Sevilla are quoted at best odds of 13/8 with Blue Square to win the match after leading at half time, whilst draw/Sevilla is on offer at 10/3 with Skybet. Draw/Getafe is available at 11/1 with Coral, whilst Sevilla/Getafe can be backed at odds as long as 50/1 with Boylesports.
