MADRID, SPAIN: Jose Mourinho's Real Madrid will look to preserve their slender lead at the top of La Liga as they welcome Osasuna to the Bernabeu. The hosts are in scarcely believable form of late, and are an almost prohibitive 1/10 (bet £10 to win £1 profit) with William Hill to win the match. The draw is 11/1 with Victor Chandler, who are also top price on the visitors, offering 33/1.
In their previous five matches, Real Madrid have scored fourteen goals and, remarkably, kept five clean sheets. They have failed to win just two of their last fifteen matches in all competitions, and could not be more confident of getting a result against Osasuna, who have only managed two wins in their last eight attempts.
The hosts look set to win by a big margin, and the favourite score for the game is 3-0, at 6/1 with Ladbrokes. Next in the betting is 2-0, at 13/2 with Blue Square and 888 Sport, while the same two firms also offer 7/1 and 10/1 on 4-0 and 1-0 respectively. The game is 22/1 with Coral to finish 1-1, with a 1-0 Osasuna win as long as 80/1 with Paddy Power.
Cristiano Ronaldo, who broke the single-season scoring record in La Liga last term, is favourite to open the scoring on Sunday, at 9/4 with Stan James. He is followed in the betting by Gonzalo Higuain and Karim Benzema, at 3/1 and 10/3 respectively with Sky Bet, while Paddy Power offer 6/1 on Kaka. At 16/1 with Bet 365, veteran striker Nino is thought to be the visitors' best hope of breaking the deadlock.
Madrid are no longer than Paddy Power's 4/11 to lead at both half-time and full-time and can be backed at 9/2 to win the match after being held at the break. Victor Chandler offer 18/1 that both halves finish level, while Osasuna/Osasuna and draw/Osasuna can be backed at 60/1 and 90/1 respectively, again with Paddy Power.
The game kicks off at 11.00 AM GMT and will be live on Sky Sports 1.
