La Liga: Valencia v Getafe Odds and Betting Preview

VALENCIA, SPAIN – Valencia host Getafe at the Estadio Mestalla on Saturday in their eagerly anticipated La Liga clash. The home side moved into fourth place in the table after a late goal from Jordi Alba sealed a 1-0 win over Zaragoza on Wednesday, and start as 8/15 (bet £15 to make £8 profit) favourites with William Hill to secure three more points on Saturday. Getafe, on the other hand, can be backed to win at 6/1 with Stan James, whilst the draw is on offer at 10/3 with Ladbrokes.

Valencia have beaten Getafe in their last three encounters, and will be confident of securing yet another win in their upcoming game. Unai Emery's side must do so without the assistance of Sergio Canales, however, who will miss much of the season due to an achilles tendon injury. Getafe are currently sixteenth in the table, having not won in La Liga since the end of September, and are desperately in need of a victory. Luis Garcia Plaza's side have drawn their last three games in a row, however, and will be encouraged to some extent by the defensive vigilance they have displayed.

In the over/under betting the top price on over 2.5 goals being scored is 5/6 with Victor Chandler, whilst under 2.5 goals is on offer at evens with Blue Square. For those punters who think that this match will end in a goalless stalemate, however, under 0.5 goals can be backed at longer odds of 12/1 with Boylesports.

Roberto Soldado has been on dangerous form in a Valencia shirt so far this season, top scoring for the club with six goals in the league already. Soldado is currently favourite to open the scoring on Saturday, and can be backed to do so at best odds of 4/1 with Ladbrokes. Valencia team mate Artiz Aduriz is also thought likely to be the first name on the score sheet at 5/1 with Skybet, whilst Getafe's Miku can be backed to break the deadlock at a longer 9/1 with Paddy Power.

Valencia are quoted at best odds of 6/5 with William Hill to win the match after leading at half time, whilst draw/Valencia is on offer at 7/2 with Ladbrokes. Draw/Getafe is available at 14/1 with Stan James, whilst those punters who think that Getafe will fight back to win the match after trailing at half time can back Valencia/Getafe at odds as long as 70/1 with Paddy Power.
