La Liga: Villarreal v Levante Odds and Betting Preview

VILLARREAL, SPAIN - Struggling Villarreal entertain surprise package Levante to the Estadio El Madrigal this Sunday evening in La Liga. Villarreal are 10/11 to win the match with Paddy Power. Levante are 7/2 with Victor Chandler to continue their stunning start to the season with another victory. Bet365 offer a best price of 5/2 on a share of the spoils.

Villarreal currently lie 14th in the La Liga standings, after a miserable start to the new campaign saw the side pick up only one victory from their opening seven fixtures. El Submarino Amarillo struggles have also continued into the Champions League as a last-gasp Sergio Aguero strike condemned the Spanish outfit to their third consecutive loss in Europe’s top competition. Under-fire Juan Carlos Garrido will need his charges to improve their performances swiftly to mute fans calling for his head.

Levante have been a revelation so far this season and sit proudly in third position as we reach the conclusion of game week seven. Los Granotes barely escaped relegation last season but now have the chance to move ahead of both Real Madrid and Barcelona as they target a sixth successive league victory. Juan Martinez’s side have already defeated Real Madrid and big-spending Malaga over the last few weeks and will be hoping to continue their fairy tale start with another victory over one of La Liga’s elite this weekend.

Villarreal are 11/2 at Bet365 to win the match by a goal to nil with 2-0 the hosts a 15/12 chance with Paddy Power. Levante are 14/1 with Betfred to grab a 2-1 victory whilst 1-0 to the visitors is an 11/1 shot with Totesport. William Hill offer 6/1 on the 1-1 draw whilst a goalless affair is a 9/1 chance with Ladbrokes.

Two out of Villarreal’s three home matches this season have gone over the 2.5 goal mark and three or more goals in this Sunday’s encounter is 6/5 at Victor Chandler. Punters expecting a low scoring affair can back less than three goals to be scored at 8/11 with Coral whilst less than two is a 9/4 chance with Bet365. William Hill go 3/1 on four or more goals in the encounter.

Italian International Giuseppe Rossi, who has scored in each of Villarreal’s three home fixtures this season, is the 9/2 favourite to open the scoring with Coral. Marco Ruben, who is likely to start up front in the absence of Nilmar, is a 9/1 chance in the market with Betfred. Ivory Coast frontman Arouna Koné is rated as Levante’s best chance to break the deadlock at 8/1 with Paddy Power.

The Match Kicks off at 2100 BST and is live on Sky Sports 1.
