FA Cup: Wolves v Birmingham Odds and Betting Preview

WOLVERHAMPTON, UK: Wolves are favourites to win Wendesday's West Midlands derby as they host Birmingham in a replay of their third-round FA Cup tie. The initial meeting between the two was a remarkably dull and goalless affair but the Premier League side are expected to come out on top this time around, with Blue Square and 888 Sport offering odds of 11/10. Another draw is 12/5 with Coral, while the visitors are as long as 14/5 with Stan James.

Mick McCarthy's team go into the game without a win in their last eight matches in all competitions, altough they have proved hard to break down of late, earning four draws from five games in which they have faced Arsenal, Spurs and Chelsea. They will believe that Championship side Birmingham offer a great chance to regain some sort of feel for victory, but their opponents are unbeaten in six and will be in confident mood following their 6-0 mauling of Millwall last time out.

The favourite score for the game is a 1-1 draw, the score in three of Wolves' last five, at 6/1 with Coral. The same firm are also top price on 1-0 to the hosts, at 13/2, going 8/1 on a 2-1 win for Wolves. The game is 9/1 with Sky Bet to finish goalless, as the meeting of 10 days ago did, while a 1-0 Birmingham win can be backed at odds as long as 10/1 with Ladbrokes.

Steven Fletcher has hauled in nine goals from 16 appearances this season and the Scot is 5/1 with Coral to open the scoring on Wednesday night, though the Scot could be rested as Wolves prepare for a weekend clash with Aston Villa. The hosts are likely to start with Kevin Doyle and Sylvain Ebanks-Black up front, with the pair 6/1 and 13/2 with Bet 365 to break the deadlock. Marlon King, City's top-scorer this term, is 15/2 with William Hill to do the honours, with Nicola Zigic slightly longer at 9/1 with BetVictor.

If the first round of this clash was anything to go by, the game could take some time to get going, and Wolves are 23/10 to get in front before the break and hold on for the win. The hosts are 41 with BetVictor to win the match after drawing at half-time, with the same firm offering 9/2 that both halves finish level. Birmingham/Birmingham and draw/Birmingham meanwhile, can be backed at 6/1 and 8/1 respectively with Ladbrokes.

Chelsea are slight favourites to lift the FA Cup this season, available at 9/2 with Paddy Power. Neither Wolves nor Birmingham are given much chances of a shock triumph, avaialble at 100/1 and 150/1 with Bet 365.

The game kicks off at 20.00 GMT and will be live on ITV1.
