Hodgson for Ireland?

Roy Hodgson is the latest name to attract support to become to be the next Republic of Ireland manager, according to Ladbrokes. Bet Asia takes a closer look at the Ireland Manager betting market.

The former Blackburn Rovers boss, who is currently working in an ambassadorial role for Italian champions Inter Milan, was available at 13.00 (12/1) to replace Steve Staunton.

But he has now been gambled in to 7.00 (6/1) third favourite behind fellow Englishman Terry Venables and Arsenal legend Liam Brady.

Venables has drifted from even money to 2.50 (6/4), whilst Brady is 3.00 (2/1) from 2.75 (7/4) after interest dried up.

Ladbrokes spokesman Robin Hutchison said: "It isn`t the most active of markets in truth but what money we are seeing at the moment is for Hodgson."
