Euro 2012 Draw and Betting Odds

Today saw the draw of the Euro 2012 football tournament that will be played in Poland and Ukraine next summer. World and European champions Spain are 5/2 favourites for overall victory, with England 10/1 and the Republic of Ireland a whopping 100/1.

The Group of Death is undoubtedly Group B with old enemies Holland and Germany joined by Portugal and Denmark. England have a relatively easy draw having been paired with Ukraine, France and Sweden, while the Republic of Ireland will do well not to come last in Group C against Spain, Italy and Croatia.

How on earth have Holland (FIFA rank 2), Germany (FIFA rank 3), Portugal (FIFA rank 7) and Denmark (FIFA rank 11) been drawn in the same group?? Must be the hardest Group of Death ever. Which to be fair makes great TV.

Wouldn't touch England at 10/1 with a bargepole. Hosts Poland at 66/1 might not be the worst shout. Dead easy group and they're joint hosts. Sure, they're rubbish but 66/1 is a big price. Co-hosts Ukraine at 40/1 isn't awful value either I think.
