British Poker Awards 2011 - Jake Cody wins Player of the Year

LONDON - The second annual British Poker Awards were the highlight of this year's Poker in the Park festival. With most awards based on votes from the public, the awards are considered the most prestigious in the country.

Jake Cody recently completed the prestigious Triple Crown (EPT, WPT and WSOP titles) by winning his first WSOP Bracelet in the $25,000 No Limit Hold'em Heads Up Championship in Las Vegas. This feat saw him win two awards, Best Tournament Player and Player of the Year.

Chris "Moorman1" Moorman was the only repeat winner after he was voted Best Online Player for the second year running. Moorman has also made an impact on the live scene recently, with five cashes and two final tables at this year's WSOP.

Most of the people that won awards were unable to make the prizegiving ceremony, but Kara Scott and John Duthie were in attendance to pick up their Poker Personality of the Year and Outstanding Contribution to Poker awards repsectively.
